Chad Greenway Gives Back to Fargo Hospital Through Latest ‘Chad’s Locker’

On Tuesday afternoon, July 28, former Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway paid a virtual visit to Sanford Children’s Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota to unveil his ninth ‘Chad’s Locker.’ This signature community outreach program of Chad Greenway’s Lead The Way Foundation provides young patients and their families access to iPads, laptops, Nintendo Switch consoles and dozens of other devices to occupy their time during their hospital stay.

Due to COVID-19 protocol, Greenway was not able to visit the hospital in person. However, through a WebEx livestream, Greenway was able to meet with hospital representatives, speak to his foundation’s mission, and help launch the new locker.
Several bed-bound patients at the hospital were able to log into the livestream to ask Greenway questions. These children were able to do so through the iPads provided by the Lead the Way Foundation through Chad’s Locker.

This new locker will reach nearly 75,000 individuals every year, including patients’ family members and friends who are visiting or staying. The dozens of devices will serve as sources of entertainment, portals for communication, and resources to keep up with schoolwork while spending extended periods of time in the hospital.

Tuesday’s unveiling marks the ninth ‘Chad’s Locker’ to be launched by Greenway and his Lead The Way Foundation. Many of these lockers reside in the Twin Cities, while others exist in Iowa, South Dakota and now North Dakota. ‘Chad’s Lockers’ combine to impact the lives of over 2.5 million individuals throughout the Midwest.
