LEAD THE WAY FOUNDATION HIGHLIGHTS

Forty-Five Mothers Sponsored Through '52 for 52' Donation Campaign

The Lead the Way Foundation would like to wish all of our mothers out there a Happy Mother’s Day weekend!
52 for 52 – the Lead the Way Foundation’s campaign to sponsor mothers to attend the annual TendHer Heart Luncheon program this fall – came to a close this past Sunday on Mother’s Day. Foundation supporters were encouraged to make a $52 donation to the Lead the Way Foundation in honor of #52, Chad Greenway. Each $52 donation would allow an additional mother of a seriously or chronically ill child to be able to attend the TendHer Heart Luncheon in September and receive a morning of pampering.
A total of $2,320 was donated through 52 for 52, which will sponsor an additional 45 mothers to attend the program this year. This will be a 12% increase in program attendance from the past year, thanks to all of the donations that came in over the past few weeks.
The TendHER Heart Luncheon is hosted each year to honor mothers of chronically and critically ill children for the sacrifices they make in caring for their ill child. The brunch provides these women with the opportunity to "take a minute" for themselves and enjoy each other's company and support. The mothers are served gourmet breakfast and lunch dishes and are sent home with a few special treats to enjoy.
Taking care of a seriously ill or special needs child is a full-time job. These mothers rarely get an opportunity to enjoy pampering or take some relaxing time for themselves. Now, thanks to everyone’s generous support through 52 for 52, 45 additional mothers will get the relaxation and recognition they deserve!
