LEAD THE WAY FOUNDATION HIGHLIGHTS

Chad Greenway Commemorates 10th Anniversary of Lead the Way Foundation by Hosting Annual Celebrity Waiter Night

Chad Greenway was a driving force as a collegiate athlete for the University of Iowa and during his career in the National Football League as a Minnesota Viking. His driving force extended far beyond the football field and Chad has continuously used his national platform for the betterment of others in the community.

On Monday night, Chad and Jenni Greenway celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Lead the Way Foundation at their annual Celebrity Waiter Night at Manny's Steakhouse. It was an evening filled with guests being treated to the world-famous Manny's experience all while mixing and mingling with some of the best Minnesota athletes, such as Jason Zucker, Kyle Rudolph, Harrison Smith, and Charlie Coyle. Over $220,000 was raised at Chad’s Celebrity Waiter Night to further the foundation’s community outreach programs.

Chad and Jenni set out with a vision of wanting to use their platform to help families with chronically and critically ill children. The past ten years, thanks to Chad and Jenni's vision, transformed millions of lives through their Lead the Way Foundation and community outreach programs including the TendHER Heart Luncheon, Chad's Locker, Field of Dreams and inclusive, handicap-accessible playgrounds.

To commemorate Chad’s achievements at the annual Celebrity Waiter Night, Jenni surprised Chad with a congratulatory video featuring family, friends, Lead the Way Foundation program recipients, former teammates and coaches, and foundation supporters— all sharing their gratitude and appreciation for Chad and the work he has done in the community.

For Chad, he owes the success and longevity of the foundation to the special people featured in the video, “We have such great support from partners, community outreach program recipients and the Minneapolis community. Now with it being the 10th anniversary of the Lead the Way Foundation this year, we hope this can live on for another 10-15 years. It has been such a dream to grow out the vision of our foundation by providing joy for millions of people.”

With your support, Chad's transparent and active engagement in his community endeavors has allowed him to use his platform and position to promote an important cause. He has created community outreach programs that don't just fix a temporary problem, but rather he has found ways through these community programs to have an everlasting impact on those that he serves in the community. For the past ten years, Chad has treated his charitable work with the same devout dedication, steadfast effort and wholeheartedness commitment that he displayed on the field.

To all the Lead the Way community outreach program recipients, supporters, community partners, Vikings fans and Executive Board Members, thank you for championing Chad and his Lead the Way Foundation. We look forward to many more impactful years to come.
