LEAD THE WAY FOUNDATION HIGHLIGHTS

More Than $260,000 Raised Through Tenth Annual Celebrity Waiter Night

Across the past nine years, the Lead the Way Foundation has enjoyed dozens of memorable moments at the yearly Celebrity Waiter Night event. Hundreds of thousands of dollars have been raised and millions of lives touched as a result. And on Monday night, Chad and Jenni had the opportunity to celebrate the tenth annual Celebrity Waiter Night with friends, family, and dozens of foundation supporters. Even a global pandemic couldn't damper the buzz in the room.

Held at the world-renowned Manny’s Steakhouse, Celebrity Waiter Night benefitted the outreach programs of the Lead the Way Foundation, and it featured Greenway and numerous other current and former Twin Cities sports icons mingling with the dozens of guests in attendance.

Attendees were treated to an exclusive cocktail reception, live music from Minneapolis-based artist Maygen Lacy, a classic Manny’s steak dinner and a live and silent auction. More than $260,000 was raised in support of the Lead the Way Foundation, including sponsorship and ticket sales and a $20,000 donation pledged by the Greenways.

During the event, the Greenways spoke at length about their foundation and why their mission of providing seriously ill youth with daily support and life-changing experiences is so important to them. They also featured the stories of several mothers from the TendHer Heart program, which showcased just how much courage and sacrifice it takes to be the mother of a seriously ill child.

Paul Allen, the Minnesota Viking’s radio announcer, served as the event’s celebrity emcee. Other local celebrities who made appearances on Monday evening were Vikings legends Ron Johnson, Tuineau Alipate and Esera Tuaolo, Penguins star Jason Zucker, boxer Caleb Truax and Nashville recording artist Dave McElroy.

Proceeds from Monday’s Celebrity Waiter Night will go towards the foundation’s tenth annual TendHer Heart program, which will happen in 2021 after a postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
