Wednesday, October 21, 2015
Vikings’ Chad Greenway has had an eventful week, so far; a big win on Sunday,
raising $200,000 at his Celebrity Waiter Night on Monday, and launching his
seventh Chad’s Locker on Tuesday. Chad’s Locker was unveiled at Hutchinson
Health, in front of a crowd of over 100 community members.
Chad’s Locker is an
electronic hub that provides access to iPads, laptops, Leap Frog Readers, DVDs,
games and other electronics to patients and their families. In addition to the
entertainment devices, Chad provided toys, coloring supplies, dolls, action
figures, and board games.
“This community is special
to me,” said Greenway. “We’ve developed a strong personal connection with the
Hutchinson community through our participation with the Day to REACH Camp. It
was great to have a few of the camp participants help unveil the locker.”
While unveiling Chad’s
Locker, Chad Greenway had the opportunity to visit current and recently
discharged patients as well as the staff.
Greenway’s Lead the Way
Foundation has installed seven lockers. Locations of Chad’s Lockers include: University
of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital, Children’s Minneapolis Hospital,
Hudson Hospital and Clinics, St. Paul Campus of Children’s Hospitals and
Clinics of Minnesota, Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare in the Ronald
McDonald Family Room, Sanford Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD and now,
Hutchinson Health. Together, these lockers have touched the lives of over hundreds
of thousands of people.
primary focus of the Lead the Way Foundation is to provide critically and
chronically ill children and their families throughout Greater Minneapolis with
daily support and life changing experiences.
