LEAD THE WAY FOUNDATION HIGHLIGHTS

Annual TendHer Heart Luncheon Held at U.S. Stadium for Second Straight Year
Sunday, September 29, 2019

MINNEAPOLIS (SEPTEMBER 29, 2019) – On Sunday morning, September 29th, retired Minnesota Vikings linebacker, Chad Greenway hosted the 2019 “TendHer Heart Luncheon” at U.S. Bank Stadium through his Lead the Way Foundation. Chad and his wife, Jenni, invited 300 mothers of chronically and critically ill children to “take some time for themselves.” This signature community outreach program treated these mothers to a morning of pampering, an exquisite brunch, and a meet and greet with Chad Greenway.
Once the women arrived, they were greeted enthusiastically by valet drivers who escorted them into the building. For the next hour the mothers received the royalty treatment from local vendors while enjoying mimosas and pastries. WarPaint International Beauty Agency provided makeup, Drybar provided hairstyling, Impact Massage & Bodywork provided massages and Kendra Scott provided a create-your-own-jewelry booth. The mothers interacted with one another while getting served brunch by the Aramark staff at U.S. Bank Stadium.
Chad and Jenni shared their story about the Lead the Way Foundation and how their mission is to provide seriously ill and physically challenged children throughout the Twin Cities with daily support and life-changing experiences.
Mothers in attendance were offered the opportunity to share their own stories at an open mic. Their stories served as reassurance, encouragement, advice and a sense of understanding for their fellow mothers in attendance. Though many tears were shed, the 300 women in attendance were able to rekindle old bonds and build new friendships with each other.
At the conclusion of the program, Chad and Jenni Greenway dispersed meaningful gifts to each mother in attendance. The gifts included a Lead the Way-branded backpack with numerous cosmetology products stuffed inside.
The “TendHer Heart Luncheon” precedes Chad Greenway’s ninth annual Celebrity Waiter Night, which will be held the following evening at Manny’s Steakhouse. Proceeds from this event go towards funding programs such as the “TendHer Heart Luncheon.”
