Minneapolis, Minn. (June 7, 2011) Chad and Jenni Greenway wanted to take time to recognize families in need by giving them a weekend at Kalahari Resorts as part of Chad Greenway’s Lead the Way Foundation’s Fields of Dreams program. Fifteen families were invited by Chad and Jenni to take full advantage of the indoor and outdoor waterparks. The families were able to enjoy the resort from Sunday, May 22 until Tuesday, May 24 with their loved ones and the Greenway family.
“Kalahari was a great place for these families to share precious time together, relax and unwind,” said Chad. “Thank you to Kalahari for helping me give these families an experience and memories to cherish for a lifetime.”
“We smiled so much our faces hurt when we got home” said the Christopherson family after their trip. “We have two daughters with medical needs and have had a hard heart breaking year. We lost our home but have tried to remain hopeful for better days ahead. Your foundation brought us that.”
As part of Chad Greenway’s Lead the Way Foundation Fields of Dreams program these families of critically and chronically ill children were able to take a few days away from their appointment filled lives to enjoy time together. “We can't express how much fun we had at Kalahari!” said Traci, a participant in the program “We smiled the entire time!”
“As a family owned and operated resort, we were thrilled to work with an organization that is dedicated to helping families in need,” said Todd Nelson, president and founder of Kalahari Resorts. “Kalahari is a place where families can relax and enjoy some much needed downtime with family-friendly activities that include indoor and outdoor waterparks, a bowling alley and arcade. We hope the weekend gave each of the families a chance to forget about their troubles and enjoy some quality time with each other.”
Chad Greenway’s Lead the Way Foundation was developed to enrich the lives of families in need. Through the foundation’s Field of Dreams program, Chad is able to present critically and chronically ill children and their families with magical memories by fulfilling sports wishes and vacation dreams.
